House passes Coble tax relief bill (Washington, D.C.)----A bill authored by U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) to bring some tax relief to those workers employed in more than one state was passed by the House this afternoon. Congressman Coble’s bill, approved by voice vote, recognizes that today’s workforce is mobile and the tax code must reflect that. |
Coble takes another opportunity to rein in congressional pensions (Washington, D.C.)----Because he is a long-standing opponent of congressional pensions, U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) this afternoon voted for a motion to recommit a Republican budget bill back to committee because it contained language that would have eliminated some forms of congressional pensions. Congressman Coble, who refuses to participate in the pension system, said it was another step in his career-long quest to rein in lavish pensions for members of the House and Senate. |
(Washington, D.C.)----One of the nation’s leading conservative watchdog groups has honored U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) with its annual award for his conservative voting record. The American Conservative Union (ACU) also noted that Congressman Coble has achieved a lifetime rating matched by few others.
